This rare edition (1991) contains fifty beautiful full colour illustrations specially commissioned from artist Alan Lee to commemorate the centenary of J.R.R. Tolkien's birth.

The book is in Very Good condition. The dustjacket is in good condition although there is a crease on the inside front cover. The dj is not price clipped - shows original price of £50.00. Dustjacket is slightly crinkled at the edges with a closed tear and a bit of sun tanning to the inside top edge.. Full-bound brown boards with gold lettering along spine - one corner is bumped. No stamps or inscriptions. Clean, crisp white pages with no foxing, tears, major stains or creases. Please see photos.
